Role models when teenagers are concerned.
59Aspirations.
Where role models and idols are concerned there is one person that immediately springs to mind in this is probably the same for most people. There is always that one person that you look up to and aspire to be like no matter how hard you have to try.
There are some people who just roam the earth doing their daily activities not even knowing how someone could be looking up to them, idolising them and aspiring to be them. My friend Jodie truly is a great inspiration and I really do hope to make her proud.
I remember when I was younger I used to follow her around and copy almost everything she had. In hindsight I was probably ridiculously annoying but I couldn't help but brag about her to my friends and how we looked similar and then knowing that my friends were jealous made me feel happy for what I had.
Nothing has changed really she is still my inspiration and I think it is good for teenagers to have role models as long as they are not a motivation to do bad. I know so many people who have gotten into the wrong crowd because of who they aspired to be but I think as long as they are a positive role model and pave the way for future generations then that's all that matters.
Role models, past and present.
An idol.
I cant think of one person I know or anyone throughout history for that matter who hasn't aspired to be like someone or beat them. Even the celebrities or sportsman of to day have people who they aspired to be like.
I think role models and idols are very easy to come by, they could be a celebrity, a friend or even a next door neighbour. Choosing the right one however is a different story. A good role model will;
- Lead you towards goals
- Set a bar, for you to raise yours
- Give you a sense of purpose and well being
Role models can be overrated but as long as you are happy with your role model than that can be something beautiful in itself.
